Bridget Ellis is a filmmaker and musician based in Oamaru, New Zealand. She has enjoyed collaborating with Maddy Maxwell in numerous and varied projects. Films released alongside Maddy and under her own independent production banner, Speckled Egg Films include documentary, promotional, creative short films and music videos. Recent 48 Hour Film projects have netted local awards, as well as a nomination for the coveted national title, ’Best Disqualified Film Award’.

Bridget has skills as a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, sound-mixer and editor, as well as having worked on the production team of larger film industry projects. Her passion is working alongside others to tell life affirming stories in innovative ways.

She co-founded Filmmakers in Schools with Maddy Maxwell, a film based education programme that has been running in the Waitaki’s primary and secondary schools for the past five years. Bridget graduated with a Certificate in Digital Filmmaking at the Southern Institute of Technology in 2019.
