Maddy Maxwell

Maddy Maxwell is an Otago, New Zealand based producer with a particular interest in developing independent projects in the South Island.  She has been working in the screen industry since 2011, from a background in theatre.

In 2013 she co-produced a micro-budget local feature LEXI that was self distributed in New Zealand and won several international awards. 

In 2015 and 2016 she produced two mixed media productions (ALICE, DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE and LANE OF MARVELS) at the Oamaru Opera House targeted at local school children with week long seasons. 

Between 2012 and 2020 she has played a production role in two local features and five short films as well as casting and location co-ordinator roles on several major outside productions that have filmed locally, including Jane Campion’s Power of the Dog.  

In 2019 she was producer and casting director for BROKEN HOME, a Proof of Concept short film with US based writer/director Joshua Good. 

Maddy also produced Anya Tate-Manning’s THE BLUE LAKE, a Short Film Otago funded dark comedy filmed at St Bathans and currently in post production.   

2020 has seen Maddy working as creative producer in the development stage for three South Island based features, and since New Zealand’s 2nd quarter Lockdown, creating Zoom interviews and editing webinars. 

She is currently working on documentary shorts promoting skills and businesses in the Waitaki District.
